APSC Grade IV Jobs Overview

The Assam Public Service Commission (APSC) is a government body for recruiting candidates for various government jobs within the state through competitive examination. APSC invites new applications for Grade IV posts. The qualified applicants can apply for the post and can gear up their career in the government sector. The period of online application is from 10th September to 9th October, 2025.

Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification: 

i) The applicants must have a minimum of Class-VIII passed and a maximum of HSSLC/ Class 12. 

ii) The applicants having higher education are not eligible to apply for the post.

Age Limit: The eligible candidates must not be less than 18 years of age and not more than 40 years of age as of 1st January 2025. 

Age Relaxation: 

i) SC: 5 years

ii) ST: 5 years 

iii) OBC/MOBC: 3 years

iv) PwBD: 10 years

Residency:

i) Applicants must be permanent residents of Assam. 

ii) The applicants must upload a valid copy of the PRC issued in Assam for educational purposes/ Employment Exchange Registration Certificate as proof of residency along with the online application form. 

Employment Exchange Registration: The applicants must have verification of education qualifications, Employment Exchange  Registration of Assam and its mandatory. 

Salary

1. Pay Scale: Rs.12,000/- to 52,000/-  

2. Grade Pay: Rs.3900/- 

3. Pay Band - 1

Small Family Norms: Applicants have to upload a declaration regarding "The Small Family Norms".

Application Fee

i) For General candidates: Rs 47.20/-

ii) For OBC/MOBC candidates: Rs 47.20/- 

iii) For SC/ST/BPL/PwBD candidates: Rs. 47.20/- 

Exam Pattern

1. The exam will consist of 2 phases.

i) Phase 1 - Screening Test.

ii) Phase 2 - Interview.

2. Exam mode: Offline (OMR-based).

3. Duration of Exam: 2 hours.

4. Total marks: 100.

Syllabus of Screening Test

i) Arithmetic - 20 marks.

ii) General Knowledge (Assam Specific) - 20 marks.

iii) Reasoning - 20 marks.

iv) Social Science - 20 marks.

v) Science - 10 marks.

vi) Elementary English - 10 marks.
