The State Council of Education Research and Training (SCERT), Assam has released an official notification inviting residents of Assam to appear for the Pre-Entry Test (PET) for admission into 2-Year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed.) course. The course will be conducted at NCTE recognized Teacher Education Institutes (DIET/CTE/Normal School/BTC/Pvt. TEIs) in the state for the academic session 2025-2027. Interested and eligible candidates can apply online through the official website. The candidates are advised to review the notification before applying online.

Resident-ship: The candidates must be permanent resident of Assam.

Educational Qualification: 

1. The candidates must have passed Higher Secondary (HS) [10+2] from a recognized Board/Council with at least 50% in aggregate, excluding marks secured in the optional/extra/fourth subject. 

2. For SC/ST(P)/ST(H) category candidates there will be a relaxation of 5% of marks in aggregate excluding marks secured in the optional/extra/fourth subject.

Age Limit: The candidates must not be less than 18 years and not more than 34 years as of 1^st July, 2025. There will be a relaxation of 2 years in the upper age limit for candidtes belonging to SC, ST(P), and ST(H) categories.

Reservation: Reservation of seats for the candidates belonging to reserved categories including OBC/MOBC, SC, ST(P), ST(H), Person with Disability (PWD) and EWS will be as per the Reservation Policy.

Venue for Pre-Entry Test (PET) - 2025: The venue for Pre-Entry Test (PET) - 2025 will be allocated in the "District" selected by the candidates during submission of online application form, which will be indicated in the Admit Card of the candidates. Seats will be allotted to the selected candidates in the Teacher Education Institutes (TEIs) of the "District" in which the candidates choose to appear for the Pre-Entry Test (PET) - 2025.

Application Fee: Rs. 600.00 (Rupees Six Hundred Only) for all categories.
