The work of POWERGRID mainly focused on the transmission of electricity across the country. The POWERGRID invites applications for the Common FTE Written Test 2025 for the engagement of experienced personnel on a contract basis.

Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification:

1. For Field Engineer (Electrical)

i) The candidates must have passed B.E./B.Tech/B.Sc (Engineering) in Electrical discipline or equivalent from a recognized University/Institute with an aggregate of 55% marks.

ii) One year of post-qualification experience.

iii) The candidates must be experienced in Design/Engineering/Construction/Testing and Commissioning, etc.

2. For Field Engineer (Civil)

i) The candidates must have passed B.E./B.Tech/B.Sc (Engineering) in Civil discipline or equivalent from a recognized University/Institute with an aggregate of 55% marks.

ii) One year of post-qualification experience.

iii) The candidates must be experienced in Design/Engineering/Construction/Testing and Commissioning, etc.

3. For Field Supervisor (Electrical)

i) The candidates should have a full-time Diploma in Electrical Engineering discipline or equivalent from a recognized Technical Board/Institute with an aggregate of 55% marks.

ii) The applicants who have higher Technical qualifications like B.Tech/B.E./M.Tech./M.E., etc., or without a Diploma is not allowed.

iii) One year of post-qualification experience.

iv) The candidates must be experienced in Construction/Testing and Commissioning etc. 

4. For Field Supervisor (Civil)

i) The candidates should possess a full-time Diploma in Civil Engineering discipline or equivalent from a recognized Technical Board/Institute with an aggregate of 55% marks.

ii) The applicants who have higher Technical qualifications like B.Tech/B.E./M.Tech./M.E., etc., or without a Diploma is not allowed.

iii) One year of post-qualification experience.

iv) The candidates must be experienced in Construction/Testing and Commissioning, etc.

 5. For Field Supervisor (Electronics and Communication)

i) The candidates should possess a full-time Diploma in Electrical/Electronics and Communication/Information Technology discipline or equivalent from a recognized Technical Board/Institute with an aggregate of 55% marks.

ii) The applicants with higher Technical qualifications like B.Tech/B.E./M.Tech./M.E., etc., or without a Diploma is not allowed.

iii) The candidates must have 1 year of post-qualification experience.

iv) The candidates must be experienced in Design/Engineering/Construction/Testing and Commissioning/Operation and Maintenance of Telecommunication System. 

Age Limit: 

i) The candidates' age must be a minimum of 29 years  as of 17-09-2025.

ii) The age relaxation is applicable as per the rules mentioned in the advertisement.

Salary:

I. Field Engineer/Supervisor compensation and benefits. (excluding RDSS project).

1. For the post of Field Engineers - Remuneration of a  monthly Pay band of Rs. 30,000-3% to Rs. 1,20,000/- 

2. For the post of Field Supervisors - Remuneration of a monthly Pay band of Rs. 23,000-3% to Rs. 1,05,000/- 

II. Field Engineer/Supervisor compensation and benefits. (for RDSS project).

1. For the post of Field Engineers - Remuneration of a monthly Pay band of Rs. 30,000-3% to Rs. 1,20,000/- 

2. For the post of Field Supervisors - Remuneration of a monthly Pay band of Rs. 23,000-3% to Rs. 1,05,000/- 

Application Fee (Non-Refundable):

1. For Field Engineer - Rs. 400/-

2. Field Supervisor - Rs. 300/-

3. For SC/ST/PwBD/ExSM - Nil.

Exam Pattern

1. Exam mode: Online (CBT).

2. Question Type: MCQ-based.

3. Duration of exam: 1 hour.

4. There will be no negative marking.

Syllabus

1. Technical Knowledge Test: 50 questions.

2. Aptitude Test: 25 questions (based on the given sub-topics).

i) General English.

ii) Reasoning.

iii) Quantitative Aptitude.

iv) General Awareness.
